508 Unit Apartment Complex Proposed
Planning Board Meeting
Tuesday, September 12, Time TBD
Imagine you are driving down Long Ridge Road. You pass by the Merritt Parkway Exit 34 off-ramp and there, on your right at 900 Long Ridge Road sits a new apartment complex with 508 units. Just a stone’s throw outside of North Stamford, we would certainly feel the effect of this many new residents, their cars, their commutes – you get the idea. This may soon be a reality.
The developer’s full proposal can be viewed here. There are 250 pages, complete with traffic comparisons and renderings. The proposed units would include:
- (56) Studios
- (235) 1-Bedrooms
- (202) 2-Bedrooms
- (15) 3-Bedrooms
If you have any thoughts on whether this project should go through or not, you may want to contact the Planning Board ahead of Tuesday evening’s meeting. Be sure to include your name and address.

As the chief death investigator in Manhattan, Barbara Butcher went to 5,500 death scenes, including 680 murders. Her work was gritty, gruesome, dangerous and at times, heartbreaking. Her many noteworthy cases included recovery of human remains at the World Trade Center site after the 9/11 attacks on America.
Butcher will take us behind the scenes of her fascinating career on September 19 when she comes to the Main Library to discuss her memoir, What the Dead Know: Learning About Life as a New York City Death Investigator.
