North Stamford Association Sponsors Softball Little League Team

June, 2015

The North Stamford Association has sponsored a AA/Minor Little League team this year in the Stamford North league (SNLL). The seven and eight year-old players range from rookies to little league veterans, with three or four years of experience, and live in North Stamford and Springdale.

For the first year of play, the North Stamford Association team (the players chant, “N-S-A!”) has had a very good season, with twelve wins, three ties and only three losses.

Little League is not just for the players. Parents and players’ siblings are invited to games and practice where they meet other parents and children, and learn a great deal about their communities through increased knowledge of local parks, local environment and recreation offerings, and by associating with community members and parents from neighboring schools. The Little League program assists children in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being and is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.

The spring session is winding down with SNLL Championship Day, scheduled for Saturday, June 20 from 9:00am – 5:00pm at the field at Springdale School on Hope Street.
