6/1/17. Members of the North Stamford Association board of directors heard a presentation last evening by Seth Ruzi, General Counsel for BLT Management regarding the proposed addition of 804 residential units within the existing 77 acre office park on Long Ridge Road across slightly north of Lord and Taylor. This proposed project is still in its early phases, and Mr. Ruzi did state that as he meets with concerned groups, he will bring back comments for review and consideration for the final proposal.
The North Stamford Association Board raised the following areas of concern;
1) existing strain on city infrastructure such as sewers, reservoirs, roadways, storm drains, and schools
2) need for financial modeling to demonstrate true benefits to the city when taxes have risen three years in a row during a strong development period
3) lack of details around retail calculations incorporated within proposal
4) implications for the other office parks further north on Long Ridge and High Ridge Roads
5) the addition of over 1200 parking spaces with these vehicles entering and exiting Long Ridge Road, a conduit already backed up from Bulls Head to the Merritt parkway during rush hour.
The North Stamford Association will keep abreast of the zoning regulation application and changes to the general development plan and share any new information as it becomes known to us. The Planning Board is scheduled to hear the proposal this coming Tuesday the 6th at the Government Center. Representative(s) of the North Stamford Association Board will be present at this meeting.
